Football Betting

How To Place A Match Bet:

A football match bet allows you to bet on the home team to win the match, the away team to win the match or for the match to be a draw. This market will pay on the result of the match at the end of the scheduled 90mins. If you have bet on a cup match and the result is a draw at the end of 90 mins and the game goes into extra time and you picked a team to win, you would not win the bet if your team won after extra time.

Example bet: Manchester Utd to win against Tottenham at odds of 1/2. If you Stake £10 then you would win £5 plus your £10 stake returned, so your total return would be £15. This is calculated as 1 ÷ 2 = 0.5 x £10 stake = £5 win.

How To Place A 45 Minute bet:

This bet has the same format as the match bet but instead of choosing a team to win or the teams to draw at Full time (90mins) you would choose the team to win or the teams to draw at half time (45 mins).

Example Bet: Chelsea to be winning after 45 mins against Arsenal at odds of 15/8. If you stake £15 you would win £28.13 plus your £15 stake returned, so your total return would be £43.13 for this bet. This is calculated as 15 ÷ 8 = 1.875 x £15 Stake = £28.13 Win.

How To Place A Draw No Bet:

The draw no bet market is a 90 min bet but you only have the option to choose the Home team to win or the away team to win. As the name suggests there is no draw element to this bet so if the match does finish tied after 90 mins then you will recieve your stake back.

Example Bet: Fulham to win against West Ham Utd draw no bet at odds of 1/5. If you Stake £100 you would win £20 plus your £100 stake returned, so your total return would be £120 for this bet. This is calculated as 1 ÷ 5 = 0.2 x £100 stake = £20 win.

How To Place A To Qualify Bet:

The to qualify bet is used for cup matches. It is not limited to 90 mins so if you have backed the home team or away team to win and the game goes into extra time you still have a chance to win when extra time has been completed. This bet can also apply to cup matches that are over two legs (the teams play twice, one home fixture and one away fixture). So for instance if you bet on Manchester City to qualify and they get beat 1-0 by Stoke in the first leg but Manchester City win 2-0 in the second leg, Manchester City would win the to qualify bet.

Example Bet: Manchester City to qualify against Stoke at odds of 4/7. If you Stake £24 you would win £13.71 plus your £24 stake returned, so your total return would be £37.71 for this bet. This is calculated as 4 ÷ 7 = 0.571 x £24 stake = £13.71 win.

How To Place A Half Time/Full Time Bet:

The half time/full time bet combines the 45 min bet and the 90 min match bet together. You have to choose between 9 different outcomes, these are: Home team to win at half time + Home team to win at full time. Home team to win at half time + Draw at full time. Home Team to win at half time + Away team to win at full time. Draw at half time + Draw at full time. Draw at half time + home team at full time. Draw at half time + Away team to win at full time. Away team to win at half time + Away team to win at full time. Away team to win at half time + draw at full time. Away team to win at half time + home team to win at full time.

Example Bet: Liverpool to win at half time – Everton to win at full time at odds of 28/1. If you Stake £5 you would win £140 plus your £5 stake returned, so your total return would be £145 for this bet. This is calculated as 28 ÷ 1 = 28 x £5 stake = £140 win.

How To Place A Match Handicap Bet:

The match handicap bet is of the same format as the match bet in that it is a 90 min bet. However with this bet you have the option of betting on the home or away team to be + 1 goal or – 1 goal. Generally it is the team which is favourite to win the match that has the – 1 goal and the opponents which have the + 1 goal. There is also the option to back the tie in this bet. So for instance if Blackburn were + 1 goal on the handicap and Bolton beat them 1-0 the handicap would be tied.

Example Bet: Blackburn + 1 on the match handicap against Bolton at odds of 8/15. If you stake £18 you would win £9.60 plus your £18 stake returned, so your total return would be £27.60 for this bet. This is calculated as 8 ÷ 15 = 0.533 x £18 stake = £9.60 win.

Example Bet: Portsmouth or Hull City at odds of 4/15 double chance market. If you Stake £50 you would win £13.33 plus your £50 stake returned, so you total return would be £63.33 for this bet. This is calculated as 4 ÷ 15 = 0.266 x £50 stake = £13.33 win.

How To Place A Correct Score Bet:

The correct score bet allows you to pick the score of a specfic football match. You can choose the home team winning score, the away team winning score or the draw score. There are potentially 15 scores to choose from if you decdide on a home win score or an away win score and 4 to choose from if you decide on a draw score.

These are the correct scores: Home or Away scores. 1-0, 2-0, 2-1, 3-0, 3-1, 3-2, 4-0, 4-1, 4-2, 4-3, 5-0, 5-1, 5-2, 6-0, 6-1. Draw scores: 0-0, 1-1, 2-2, 3-3, 4-4.

Example Bet: Aston Villa to beat Birmingham 3-2 at odds of 25/1. If you stake £7 you would win £175 plus your £7 stake returned, so your total return would be £182 for this bet. This is calculated as 25 ÷ 1 = 25 x £7 stake = £175 win.

How to place a correct score football bet

How To Place A First Goalscorer Bet:

The first goalscorer bet allows you to pick a player to score first in the match in 90 minutes, you can choose a player from either the home team or the away team to do this. There is also the option to choose there to be no goalscorer. If you pick a player that does not take part in the match then you will have your stake returned. However if your player comes on as a substitute at any time in the match and the match is still 0-0, your player will be classed as a runner even though the player may only have participated for 1 minute of the match. This is because your player would have had an opportunity to score the first goal. However if the player comes on as a substitute after the first goal has been scored your player will be classed a non runner and you will have your stake returned.

Example Bet: Wayne Rooney to Score First Manchester Utd v Wigan at odds of 6/1. If you stake £13 you would win £78 plus your £13 stake returned, so your total return would be £91 for this bet. This is calculated as 6 ÷ 1 = 6 x £13 stake = £78 win.

How To Place A Last Goalscorer Bet:

The last goalscorer bet allows you pick a player to score the last goal of the match in 90 minutes, you can choose a player from either the home team or the away team to do this. There is also the option to choose there to be no goalscorer. As with the first goalscorer market if you pick a player that does not take part in the match then you will have your stake returned. However if your player comes on as a substitute at any time in the match the player will be classed as a runner, as that player has had the opportunity to score the last goal of the match.

Example Bet: Wayne Rooney to score last Manchecter Utd v Wigan at odds of 6/1. If you stake £20 you would win £120 plus your £20 stake returned, so your total return would be £140 for this bet. This is calculated as 6 ÷ 1 = 6 x £20 Stake = £120 win.

How To Place An Anytime Goalscorer Bet:

The anytime goalscorer bet allows you pick a player to score at anytime during the match in 90 minutes, you can choose a player from either the home team or the away team to do this. There is also the option to choose there to be no goalscorer. If you pick a player that does not take part in the match then you will have your stake returned. However if your player comes on as a substitute at any time in the match the player will be classed as a runner, as that player has had the opportunity to score a goal at anytime during the match.

This bet is less restrictive than the first and last goalscorer markets as it means your player could score the first goal the last goal or a goal that is scored between the two. For example, if Manchester Utd Won 3-1 and Wayne Rooney scored the 2nd goal for Manchester Utd then you would win. However the odds for this to happen would be lower than the odds for the first and last goalscorer markets.

Example Bet: Wayne Rooney to Score at anytime Manchester Utd v Wigan at odds of 6/4. If you Stake £32 you would win £48 plus your £32 stake returned, so your total return would be £80 for this bet. This is calculated as 6 ÷ 4 = 1.5 x £32 stake = £48 win.

How To Place A Scorecast Bet:

The scorecast bet is a combination of bets, it allows you to either pick the first goalscorer of the match and the correct score of the match or the last goalscorer of the match and the correct score of the match. Both parts of the bet have to win for a pay out to be made, For example if you were to pick Wayne Rooney to score first and Manchester Utd to win 3-1 both of those predictions would need to happen. The rules are the same as the first and last goalscorer markets however if your player does not play in the match your stake will go onto the correct score part of the bet. As this is a combination bet the odds for this market will be a lot higher than the odds of the correct score and the first and last goalscorer markets.

The scorecast market allows you to pick the first or last goalscorer of the match but to also have the correct score as a win for the team that your first or last goalscorer is not playing for. For example you could have Hugo Rodallega of Wigan to Score first and Manchester Utd to win 3-1.

Example Bet: Wayne Rooney to score first and Manchester Utd to win 3-1 against Wigan at odds of 111/1. If you stake £5 you would win £555 plus your £5 stake returned, so your total return would be £560 for this bet. This is calculated as 111 ÷ 1 = 111 x £5 stake = £555 win.

Total goals in the match is a 3 selection bet which allows you to choose how many goals there will be in 90 minutes of the match. The 3 selections consist of under, exactly and over options. Depending on how many goals the book maker feels the match will produce will depend on the number of goals the 3 options will have. For example if Arsenal were playing Portsmouth the total goals market maybe, Under 3, Exaclty 3 or Over 3 goals in the match.

Some bookmakers may also offer a bet which excludes the exactly part of the bet. They do this by offering selections with .5 after the number of total goals they have decided to offer. For example Total goals in the match Under 2.5 or Over 2.5, if you bet on under 2.5 you would win if there were 0 goals, 1 goal or 2 goals in the match.

Example Bet: Over 3 goals in the Arsenal v Portsmouth match at odds of 2/1. If you stake £11 you would win £22 plus your £11 stake returned, so your total return would be £33 for this bet. It is calculated as 2 ÷ 1 = 2 x £11 stake = £22 win.

How to place a total goals football bet

How To Place A Total 1st Half Goals Bet:

Total 1st half goals works on the same principles as the total goals in the match but instead of the bet being over 90 minutes, it will be over 45 minutes instead. This means that the under, exaclty and over selection totals will be lower than in the total goals in the match bet. For example the Arsenal v Portsmouth match may have No 1st half goal, Exactly 1 goal or over 1 goal.

You could also do the total 1st half goals which excludes the exacly part of the bet as well, once again the selection totals will be lower than in the total goals in the match bet. For example total 1st half goals under 1.5 or over 1.5.

The before and after times can vary between matches depending on how the book makers rate the match for goals. The variable times are with in a few minutes of each other and can range from the 27th minute or before and after 27th minute, to 24th minute and beforeand after the 24th minute.

A note of caution with this bet, if the goal is scored very close to the before and after times that are on your selection. The book makers will pay out on the offical time that the Press Association report the goal as and not the time that may have been given by TV coverage. For example if you had the 24th minute or before and a goal was scored at 23.58 as reported on the TV but the Press Association gave the official time as 24.02 your bet would not win as the bet would now be into the 25th minute.

Example Bet: The time of the first goal in the Chelsea v Burnley match to be the 24th minute or before at odds of 11/10. If you stake £30 you would win £33 plus your £30 stake returned, so your total return would be £63 for this bet. It is calculated as 11 ÷ 10 = 1.1 x £30 stake = £33 win.

This bet is not limited to just the home or just the away team as both are included with in this bet. For example if the score was 1-1 and the home team goal scorer was wearing shirt 10 and the away team goal scorer was wearing 11 you would add the two numbers together and this would give you the result for this bet.

The under, between and over options can vary from match to match with this bet as teams allocate a squad number to a player which can go up into the 20′s. One week you may have a number 10 playing as a striker but the following week you could have a number 19 playing as a striker which would affect this bet. This bet is not limited just to the home or just to the away team as both teams are included with in this bet. The maximum amount of points that can be given to one player is 35 points, so in the instance of a player recieving 2 yellow cards and then a red card the total value of points will be 35 and not 45 which the 2 yellow cards and one red card would add up to. An example of how this bet is laid out is as follows. Under 41, Between 41-71 and over 71

Example Bet: The bookings in the West Ham Utd v Hull City game to be under 41 at odds of 2/1. If you were to stake £37 you would win £74 plus your £37 stake returned, so your total return would be £111 for this bet. It is calculated as 2 ÷ 1 = 2 x £37 stake = £74 win.

The total corners bet is a 90 minute bet with 3 selections which consist of an under, exactly and over option. The total corners bet is in relation to the combined amount of corners the home team or away team win in the match. This bet is also not limited just to the home team or the away team as both teams are included in this bet. For example if the Home team win 7 corners and the away team win 8 corners the total corners for the match would be 15. This is calculated as 8 home team corners + 7 away team corners.
